Oxygen and Bronchiolitis; Inter-departmental Transports
I am looking for some input on 2 topics from others in acute care.
1. We are looking to have some consistencies among providers regarding supplemental oxygen requirement in our bronchiolitis patients. Haven't found much literature on the topic as far as a minimum standard. Does anyone have a guideline or policy that they use? Know of any great literature?

2. I'm working in pediatrics within a larger adult hospital. Recently we've had some difficulties with respect to interdepartmental transport of pediatric patients. Some of the gap is equipment related, especially when it comes to our toddler age patients. We are trying to develop a standard or guideline to prevent injuries to both our pediatric patients and also to our parents who at time resort to carrying the child, etc. and place themselves at risk. I don't want to reinvent the wheel so if anyone has any suggestions or policies used in your own facility, I'd be greatly appreciative.

Thanks.
Kerri
