Christina Rickenback, MSN, CPNP, APRN

Bio

I have been a PNP since 1982 working in a private pediatric practice in Essex, CT. We provide primary care to newborns through young adults up to age 23 (usually). Prior to that I was an RN in various settings (med/surg, ER, newborn nursery/postpartum, general peds , pedi research and NICU).

I am also retired Captain Naval Reserves Nurse Corps and deployed to Operation Desert Storm, serving in a tent hospital in Saudi Arabia.
I have been interested in children in disasters for years and was the founding chair of the CID SIG. I believe all APRNs can be involved in some way with working with children in disasters whether it be through: preparing our family, workplace or patients and their families for disaster;  advocacy; research; writing for our professional literature or for the lay press.
I have written articles for one of our local monthly papers.
Currently I am volunteering with my Medical Reserve Corps at COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
