Bio

I entered the nursing world in 1980 after graduating with my ADN. I worked in hospitals on the pediatric floor and in the community for the Visiting Nurse Association providing well and ill care for patients and families at home. In 2007 I graduated from the University of Iowa with my BSN and continued on to receive my MSN/pediatric NP in 2009 and my Doctor of Nursing Practice in the spring of 2012. Pediatrics has always been my love and focus. This is an area where establishing a great foundation pays big dividends in the end: a healthy start goes a long way in producing a healthy life. This health doesn't just include the "medical" but includes nurturing familial relationships, intellectual stimulation and good nutrition. You can be wealthy and not attain these goals, and you can be poor and still attain these goals. Assisting parents in promoting the optimal health outcomes for their children is important to me as a practitioner.
