Dr.Jessica Peck is a Clinical Professor of Nursing at Louise Herrington School of Nursing, Baylor University. She is an expert Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with outstanding professional organization leadership at the local, state and national level. She drives innovative, visionary leadership, developing NP-led inclusive and diverse interprofessional teams to produce impactful outcomes of quality healthcare, particularly for vulnerable populations. Dr. Peck is dedicated to creating transformational nursing education by bridging the gap from education to practice with the infusion of interprofessional educational experiences and innovative technologies.
Dr. Peck has special interest in the use of technology in healthcare and social media health impacts on children. She serves as an anti-trafficking advocate for children, pioneering the implementation of National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP's) Alliance for Children in Trafficking (ACT), working with the Office of Trafficking in Persons and other partners.
Dr. Peck was a participant in the Nursing Leadership Institute in the National League for Nursing. She served as a Policy Scholar and two consecutive terms as secretary on the Executive Board for NAPNAP and is currently on the Board of Directors of NAPNAP's Partners for Vulnerable Youth. Dr. Peck served as the Texas State South Representative for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She has published on pediatric practice as well as nursing advocacy and education and serves as a manuscript reviewer for several nursing journals. She provides legal nurse consulting services. Dr. Peck is currently the President-Elect of NAPNAP
Dr. Peck has been the recipient of numerous honors including the Gold Medal for Nursing Education from the Good Samaritan Foundation, Love of Learning Award from Phi Kappa Phi International, Innovation in Clinical Practice Award from the University of Alabama, Outstanding Faculty of the Year from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing, and induction as a Fellow in AANP.
