Michael Corjulo, MSN, APRN, CPNP, AE-C

Bio

I received my BSN from Southern Connecticut State University in 1983 and my MSN from the Yale School of Nursing in 1998. I have acute care and community care experience, with the past 21years focused in pediatrics. From the onset of my PNP primary care career I have been involved in creating, managing, and improving asthma management programs. I have been a certified asthma educator (AE-C) for the past 9 years and do concomitant work in a primary care practice and as the health coordinator for a regional special education school district. In addition to providing direct asthma care, I do the CT Department of Education asthma classes for school nurses; actively work with the Department of Public Health on state asthma policies and initiatives; and am a central participant in the Yale-New Haven Community Medical Group’s asthma performance initiative. I teach a respiratory and asthma class for foster parents in CT for the Department of Children and Families.
I have published five articles and have spoken at multiple conferences and workshops. I am the chair of the CT South Central Regional School Nurse Supervisors group and an EPA trained Tools for Schools representative. I am President of the Association of School Nurses in CT. I am very interested in public health policy and attended the NAPNAP DC Fly-in on Capitol Hill in 2010.
