Chapter Advocacy Updates

On Nov. 6th, NAPNAP members will convene in Washington D.C. for Capitol Hill Day. This is an exciting time for PNP's to engage our leaders regarding priority issues in child health. This year NAPNAP has four asks outlined below:
1. Support fiscal 2024 funding for Title VIII nursing workforce development programs at no less than the Senate bipartisan allocation of $302.47 million.
2. Co-sponsor and support passage of the “Improving Care and Access to Nurses (ICAN) Act” (H.R. 2713/S. 2418).
3. Support fiscal funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Section 317 National Immunization Program at no less than the Senate’s bipartisan allocation of 681.93 million.
4. Co-sponsor and support passage of “Helping Kids Cope Act” (H.R. 2412)
Jess Francois (legislative chair) will be setting up Zoom meetings with our U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives to review NAPNAPs asks and build relationships. The date will be sometime in mid-to-late November. If you would like to participate, please email Jess at This will be done as a team and is a great opportunity for those interested in this work.
