Your Chapter Board

President: Yvette Laboy, DNP, CPNP-AC, CCRN, CPN

Yvette is a board-certified pediatric acute care nurse practitioner, certified critical care nurse (CCRN), and certified pediatric nurse (CPN). She practices as a nurse practitioner at Johns Hopkins Hospital on the Pediatric Pain Service and serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She became a student member of NAPNAP in 2019 and has since been actively involved. She held the position of chapter treasurer from 2019-24 and served as president-elect from 2023 to 2024. She is currently serving as the president of our chapter. Additionally, she is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Yvette's professional interests include pediatric critical care, pain management, end-of-life care, sedation and nursing education.

Immediate Past President: Lindsay J. Ward, CRNP, RN, IBCLC, MS, BSN

Lindsay is a board-certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner (CPNP-PC) and an international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). She practices in a private practice in Annapolis, MD, and is adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (DNP program) and the University of Maryland School of Nursing (BSN/MSN-E program). Lindsay earned at BS in Biology from Elon University, a BS in Nursing from the UMB SON and her Master of Science Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care degree from the UMB SON. She joined the MD Chesapeake Chapter as a student member in 2013 and has held many leadership roles in the chapter.  She served as the chapter's legislative chair from 2018-22 and continues to be an active member of the chapter's legislative committee.  She was the chapter president from 2022 to 2024, during which the chapter received and executed two Pediatric Mental Health Care Access grants from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) funded via Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  During her presidency led the chapter's collaboration with fellow health care organizations including to unite efforts to address pediatric health issues and to strengthen healthcare stakeholder relationships across the state.   She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM) and serves as the Anne Arundel District Director and member of the NPAM legislative committee.  She is a Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (MDAPP).  She is a member of the Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (AFPNP).  She serves on the project advisory board for the Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care (BHIPP) program.  Her passions lie in legislation, adolescent sexual health, pediatric mental health and nursing education. 

Secretary: Tammy McGillin, MS, RN, CPNP-PC, IBCLC

Tamara is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in pediatric primary care. She currently practices in Newark, DE. Tamara earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Maryland School of Nursing.  In order to better care for nursing dyads, Tamara pursued certification as a lactation consultant in 2015.  She is a member of both The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and The International Lactation Consultant’s Association. Her professional interests include newborn care, lactation, developmental surveillance, and health promotion. 

Education Co-Chair: Taylor Jones-Swing, DNP, CPNP- PC

Taylor is a board-certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. She practices clinically within a private practice in Reisterstown, Md., and is an assistant faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She has been a member of NAPNAP since 2016, initially joining the board as the UMSON student representative during her NP program and, since 2022, serving as the co-education committee chair. Her passions lie in pediatric mental health and pediatric nursing education.

Education Co-Chair/CE Chair: Sarah Rangelov, DNP, CPNP-PC, FNE A/P

Sarah is a board-certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. She practices clinically at the Center for Hope, the Baltimore child advocacy center, where she cares for pediatric patients who have experienced child maltreatment. Additionally, she specializes in forensic nursing and holds certification as a Forensic Nurse Examiner for both adult/adolescent and pediatric patients. Dr. Rangelov is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Her passions include the prevention of child maltreatment, forensic nursing and pediatric nursing education.

Legislative Co-Chair: Evgenia Ogorodova, DNP, CPNP-PC

Legislative Co-Chair: Jessica D. Murphy, DNP CPNP-AC CPHON CNE

Jessica is a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner with nearly two decades of experience caring for acutely and chronically ill children. She is a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and practices as a pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse practitioner at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. She is also involved in local and national legislative advocacy focused on health policies to improve the overall health and well-being of children. Dr. Murphy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stevenson University, a Master of Science in pediatric acute care advanced practice nursing from the University of Maryland, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

Communications Chair: Kristen Richards, MSN, CPNP - PC

Kristen is a PNP licensed in Washington D.C., and Maryland. She holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Towson University and a master of science degree in nursing, specializing in pediatric primary care from the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Kristen specializes in children from birth to 21 years old. Her clinical background includes providing care to pediatric patients in acute care units and outpatient settings. Her special interests include school readiness, infectious disease and pediatric mental health.

Membership Chair: Jennifer Redmond, MS, RN, CRNP, CPNP-PC, IBCLC

Jennifer is a board-certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore. With 14 years of nursing experience in the neonatal intensive care unit, Jennifer transitioned to pediatric primary care in July 2016 at a large private practice serving Anne Arundel and Queen Anne’s counties. Her passion for newborn and infant care inspired her to further specialize in breastfeeding medicine, and since 2018, she has also been an international board-certified lactation consultant partnering with breastfeeding families. She joined the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners as a student member in 2015 and is excited to be serving as the current membership chair for the Maryland chapter.
