Board Description & Elections

Are you interested in joining the Minnesota NAPNAP Board this year? In particular, we are looking for more primary care and mental health representation, but open to all specialties. Below are descriptions board positions.  The term starts in July and is one year long with the option to stay on if you would like, with the exception of president elect.  We expect attendance of board meetings; there will be 4-6 per year depending on the schedule. There is also some time required outside of the board meetings to fulfill the obligations of your specific role. 

    • President
      • This position is the prior president elect and serves one term but can be re-elected if president –elect is not available and/or not ready for position. President upholds standards of MN NAPNAP chapter and is liaison to other chapters as well as national information. President leads chapter.
    • Treasure
      • Keeps record of chapter finances and distributes funds as applicable. Manages pay pal account.
    • Communications, Social Media, and Website Design Chair
      • The communications chair is responsible for compiling and distributing the quarterly newsletter, and corresponding with members about upcoming events and legislative updates. They also assist with managing the website and social media accounts.
    • Legislative Chair
      • The legislative chair partners with other pediatric and APRN-focused bodies such as the APRN Coalition, MN AAP, and national NAPNAP to stay aware of, promote, and help develop legislation focused on improving the health and welfare of children, as well as promoting NP practice. The chair reports to the local MN NAPNAP board, obtains consensus on policy development, and disseminates information on current and upcoming policy changes.
    • Membership Chair
      • The membership chair is responsible for sending out monthly emails to new members and newly renewed members. This chair will also assist in recruiting new MN NAPNAP members, as well as new board members. Each year this chair creates a ballot of nominees for members to vote on at spring conference, and tally the votes. Membership chair also sends out yearly chapter survey.
    • President Elect
      • This position requires a 3-year commitment. The first year as president elect, second as president, and third as past president. The president elect assists the current president with their duties, including managing and organizing the current board and chapter activities.
    • Programming Chair and Co-Chair
      • The programming chair is responsible for organizing the fall volunteer event and spring conference. This includes securing venues, catering, and sponsors.  This person will also assist with finding speakers and designing the program for the events. This person also identifies CE and files appropriate paperwork to ensure attendees get credit. Two individuals share this position.
    • Secretary
      • This chair is responsible for taking minutes and compiling notes from all board meetings.
    • Student Representative
      • Attends all board meetings, and assist board members with events or correspondence when needed. This person should be in communication with local PNP programs and help to communicate needs or concerns from students that the board can help to address.
Elections: We currently have president elect for 2022, co-website design, communications and newsletter chair (2 positions), member chair, and programming co chair (1 position) .
