Sarah is a certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioner currently employed at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in the Midlands Child and Family Advocacy Clinic. Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, she graduated from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, with her BSN in 2012. After practicing as a pediatric RN for several years, she attended the University of Colorado, Denver, where she graduated with her MSN in 2017. She then practiced as a PNP in a small primary care pediatric clinic in Broomfield, Colorado, before moving back to Columbia, South Carolina, in 2022. Her interests include working with children in foster care, advocating for full practice authority of nurse practitioners, and educating children and families on the importance of childhood immunizations.

Immediate Past President: Mimi McCully, MSN, APRN, CPNP, IBCLC

Mimi has been a pediatric nurse practitioner for 30 years, mostly in primary care practices. She has been involved with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners since she was in graduate school, working on her MSN to become a PNP. She has also been a lactation consultant for more than 25 years. She served as chapter president for the North Carolina Chapter, and when her family moved to the Charlotte area, helped found the North Carolina-Charlotte chapter and served as president of the chapter for its first year. She has also served as co-chair and chair of the NAPNAP Breastfeeding Education special interest group.

Secretary: Stephanie Schaller

Stephanie Schaller, DNP, RN, PPCNP-BC is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina, specializing in pediatric nursing education and clinical reasoning. With extensive experience in clinical practice and nursing education, Dr. Schaller focuses on innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and clinical competence. She leads research on integrating emerging technologies, such as 3D printing and generative AI, into nursing curricula to improve learning outcomes. In addition to her faculty role, Dr. Schaller maintains clinical practice in the area of child maltreatment. Her scholarship in this field earned national recognition, with her research on improving child abuse screening named the Journal of Nurse Practitioners 2024 Article of the Year. She was also recognized as a 2025 Innovision Award finalist for her educational innovations, reflecting her commitment to advancing both nursing education and child health outcomes.

Treasurer: Whitney Lutz, MSN, RN, CPNP-PC

Whitney's career in pediatrics began in 1982 and covers many aspects of hospital and NICU care, as well as primary care. She received her MSN in 1997 from Arlington, Texas, and has focused on primary care in four states since that time. She currently practices in Walterboro, South Carolina, with a solo pediatrician in a private practice but focuses on rural health care and the special needs of underserved populations. Her passion is caring for children and helping them grow into healthy, vibrant adults. When she isn't working in the office, her hobbies are beekeeping, gardening, farming, quilting, baking, and working with families in her local church. She is the mother of three adults and eight grandchildren. She likes to view her role in primary care as preparing and caring for the future leaders of America today.

CE Co-Chair: Holly Frankel, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC

Holly is a certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioner currently employed at Fetter Healthcare Network, a Federally qualified health center that provides care to medically underserved communities in the greater Charleston area. Originally from Long Island, New York, she graduated from the College of New Rochelle with her BSN in 1988. After practicing as a NICU nurse for several years, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she graduated with her Master of Science degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 1993.  She then practiced in primary care offices, health centers and in a child advocacy center as she supported her husband's 23 year active duty Air Force career in various states across the US.  She then moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2020 and was a lead nursing instructor teaching pediatrics in an accelerated RN program for 4 years before her current job.  Her interests include educating children and families on healthy lifestyle choices in school based programs, advocating for children in high risk, medically underserved communities, volunteering, boating and yoga.

CE Co-Chair: Simone Chinnis, DNP, MBA, APRN, FNP-C, AE-C

Dr. Simone Chinnis is a family nurse practitioner, asthma educator and assistant professor. Over her 20-year nursing career, she has served as a provider, leader and academician. She has led numerous task forces, developed curricula and served as the inaugural director of community engagement and executive director of the Partner Program at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her team advanced behavioral health equity across the lifespan in South Carolina, enhanced workforce readiness for novice psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners via remote mentorship, strengthened primary care partnerships through telehealth and expanded access to linguistically concordant behavioral health care for children. Chinnis is on faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and practices at Pelican Pediatrics. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Spanish, health exercise science and nursing, as well as a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in nursing and a Doctor of Science in nursing. Across all roles, Chinnis remains committed to improving health outcomes, advancing equity and cultural humility, fostering community collaboration, translating research into practice, leveraging innovation to strengthen workforce readiness and expanding educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of patients, students and communities.

Legislative Chair: Keisha Lockhart, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, CNM

Dr. Lockhart, DNP APRN CPNP-PC CNM has been in nursing for over 24 years – 18+ as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner and 7 as a neonatal ICU nurse. She received her education at Temple University with a Master’s in Nursing, Bachelor’s in Nursing, and Bachelor’s in Biology. She also holds an Associate’s in Chemistry from Bermuda College, a post graduate certificate in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing Universityand a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Alabama. Dr. Lockhart has also completed the INNATE Postpartum Care Training. She is a lactation counselor and infant massage instructor. She is owner and healthcare provider at AfterBirth LLC in Anderson, South Carolina. AfterBirth promotes and sustains the health and well-being of children from birth to 18 years and their families by providing quality, affordable, comprehensive primary care pediatric and early postpartum services. 

Membership Chair: Shawn Meiman

 

 

Shawn Meiman is a family nurse practitioner who practiced in Kentucky for over 20 years before moving to South Carolina in 2022. She received her undergraduate BSN from the University of Evansville in 1987. She graduated with an MSN from the University of Louisville and certification as a family nurse practitioner from Spalding University in 1999. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Louisville with a dissertation focus on Congolese mothers and infant care. Her career has included working in the neonatal intensive care unit as an RN, an APRN in pediatric hematology/oncology, and for the past 10 years as an APRN in general pediatrics with a population focus on refugee, foster, and residential children.
 
 
 
 
 

Social Media Chair: Jordan Lint

Jordan Lint, DNP, CPNP, is a pediatric nurse practitioner with a background in quality improvement and child health advocacy. She recently completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the Medical University of South Carolina, where her doctoral project focused on increasing seasonal vaccination rates in a rural pediatric clinic. Jordan is passionate about following evidence-based practice to guide care, strengthen outcomes, and support families. She looks forward to bringing her love of communication and community engagement to her role as NAPNAP’s Social Media Coordinator.
