Do you know your state legislators? Each NP should identify and contact his/her legislators to address issues concerning health care and our profession. If you do not know your legislators, they can easily be found *here*.
Legislators may not be knowledgeable of our roles and the health care we provide to our patients. They need to be educated. The following link is from the AANP and might provide a starting point in talking with elected officials.

Missouri APRN Resource Fund
One of the biggest challenges comes from the lack of funding. MONA has help create the APRN Resource Fund. The APRN Resource Fund has been established to help Missouri APRNs advance their nursing practice and address various issues including “Barrier Free Care for Missouri Citizens”. Assistance from this fund will be provided in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, legal expenses, printing, and marketing.
The APRN Resource Fund offers online contributions for one-time payments only at this time.
