GA NAPNAP Student Scholarship

Our chapter is committed to supporting advanced education and improving the quality of care for all children in GA. The chapter plans to award one $1,000 student scholarship to a GA resident enrolled in a graduate nursing program with a pediatric focus (PNPs, FNPs, CNS, DNPs). The scholarship is awarded annually in the spring. Preference will be given to those who are student members of the chapter.

Qualification Criteria:

  • Enrolled in an accredited pediatric nurse practitioner program or family nurse practitioner program with plans to work in pediatrics OR

  • Currently certified pediatric nurse practitioner or pediatric focused family nurse practitioner enrolled in an accredited post-master’s DNP program.

  • Registered nurse in the state of GA.

  • Anticipated graduation Fall 2024 or after.

Application process: 

This is a self-nomination process. All applicants must compile and submit the following documents to vpnapnap@ganapnap.org.  

  • A current curriculum vitae or resume

  •  A double spaced 500 word essay for the following prompt:

    • For students working on their pediatric focused advanced degree: Select one of the NAPNAP Position Statements related to child health equity and discuss innovative solutions that you as a future nurse practitioner would want to work toward to promote child health equity, improve access to comprehensive care, and increase engagement in advocacy activities.

    • For post-master DNP Students: Select one of the NAPNAP Position Statements that affects your patient population and discuss innovative solutions used by nurse practitioners to address the issue and improve pediatric healthcare.

  • Two letters of recommendation that speak to the applicant's potential for impact, influence, or advancement of the profession:

    • One from current nursing faculty on official college/university letterhead.

    • One from an additional faculty member, a nursing professional, or colleague.


All documents must be submitted at one time. Incomplete applications and those with supporting documentation missing will not be reviewed. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the application is complete and all supporting documentation is included.
