The purpose of creating the integrative health (IH) special interest group is to provide pediatric nurse practitioners with evidence-based information on holistic medical approaches that
integrate complementary medicine with allopathic medicine to provide the most comprehensive care of a child.

We strive to collaborate with PNPs and other providers that share interest in integrative medicine and have a place for information sharing with current, evidence-based research. We would like to create awareness and share information about US regulation and policy of dietary supplements in the US and its implications for providing safe patient care, specifically with product manufacturing, labeling, and US pharmacovigilence. Other goals include, but are not limited to:

To form collegial relationships and build a group of PNPs that acquires strong scientific knowledge on how to provide integrative medical patient care.

To disseminate information and provide access to evidence-based pediatric IH research.

Be an informative source that facilitates PNPs in decision-making and management of IH patient care.
