Minnesota Chapter Board Members
President: Rebecca Carlson, MAN, APRN, CPNP

Bio: Rebecca Carlson is a hospitalist nurse practitioner at Children's Minnesota. She began her career as a nurse practitioner in pediatric primary care at HCMC before transitioning to Children's Minnesota. She is a member of both NAPNAP and the AAP, and is vice chair of the AAP section on hospital medicine subcommittee for advanced practice providers.

President Elect: Dana Schave, APRN, CPNP-AC

Bio: Dana Schave is a pediatric nurse practitioner with the Children’s Diabetes and Endocrine Clinic at Children’s Minnesota. She did her undergraduate education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and started her career as a bedside nurse in pediatric oncology. She completed graduate school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE where she received a Master’s Degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care and then transitioned to Pediatric Endocrinology. When not working, Dana enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and their vizsla, Theia, who keeps them all on our toes.

Legislative Chair: Katie Roberts, APRN, CPNP

Bio: Her passion for advocacy has taken on many forms; she has spent time working at a birthing center in Mexico, at a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and most recently as a primary care provider at Hennepin Healthcare. Katie graduated from Yale University School of Nursing in 2017; she has worked in both community health and in specialty care in the capacity of a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. No matter where she finds herself, working towards a healthy future for all children and families is her number one priority. When Katie is not in clinic, she is on a trail- running and biking in the summer, and Nordic skiing in the winter!

Treasurer: Amara Rosenthal, APRN, CPNP-AC

Bio: Amara lives in St. Paul, MN with her husband and 2.5-year-old son. She works at Children's Minnesota in the Pediatric Hospital Medicine department.

Programming Co-Chair: Kristin Moore, BSN, APRN, DPNP-AC

Bio: Pediatric nurse practitioner with the Hospital Medicine Team at Children's Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing '04 from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI and completed her graduate training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, MS '07 and DNP '12. Prior to joining the Hospitalist Team in 2017, Kirstin practiced as a nurse practitioner for 9 years at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. While in Madison, she was actively involved in UW Health's Advanced Practice Provider Council.

Bio: Stephanie Sperl is a graduate of Duke University's Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care program. She practices at Northern Lights Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine where she provides comprehensive care to infants, children, and adolescents. She, her husband, Adam, and golden retriever, Ollie, live in Minneapolis and enjoy being active together, going on outdoor adventures and traveling.

Bio: Chris is a pediatric nurse practitioner of 9 years, graduating with a Master of Science from the University of Minnesota in 2011. Chris began her nurse practitioner career with The Heart Center at University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. When her family relocated to Omaha, NE in 2016, I joined the Pediatric Hospital Medicine group at Children's Hospital and Medical Center. I also obtained a post-Master's certificate in Acute Care at Creighton University in 2019. We were fortunate to move back to Minnesota last year, closer to family and friends, and even more fortunate that a position with the Heart Center was available for me. I live in Waconia, MN with my husband and three daughters.

Membership and Nominations Chair: Sarah Entinger, APRN, CPNP-AC


Bio: Sarah Entinger is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital in the department of Pediatric Cardiology and CV Surgery. She has a special interest in caring for children and families with complex health care needs. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family.

Student Representative: Beth Harrington, BSN, PNP student

Bio: Beth is a pediatric RN in Rochester, MN, where she has worked for seven years on the general pediatric floor. She is a pediatric primary care PNP student at Rush University with an expected graduation in the spring of 2021. She enjoys traveling and spending time outside with her 3- year- old Australian shepherd, Finley, during breaks of studying and work.

Bio: Abigail is dual board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner AC /PC. She works with NDSU as faculty, Pinnacle Pediatric Clinic in Fargo, ND, and the Hospitalist program at Children's Minnesota. She attended graduate school at Vanderbilt University where she received a Master's Degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree through Vanderbilt University. She enjoys providing family centered care for pediatric patients, and her areas of interest include pediatric chronic health care conditions, the special needs child, global healthcare, and providing education to patients, families, and students. Abigail has four children, and spends her free time with her family, hiking, swimming, and traveling.

Bio: Sarah is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She works in primary care at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. She is passionate about children and their family’s health. Practice driven in forming relationships with her patients while teaching them about health and safety across the life span. She aspires to travel the world providing health care to all children and education to their families. She is married to her number one fan and they have two children with a new baby arriving March 2021.
