NC NAPNAP 2025 Annual Awards

Celebrate excellence in pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) practice by nominating yourself or a colleague for one of our prestigious awards. Self-nominations are welcome and will not be disclosed as such during the reception ceremony. Nominations do not need to be submitted by NC NAPNAP members. Nominations are due on August 22, 2025. Recipients will be honored at the Annual Fall Conference on October 6, 2025. Click here to nominate!

 

🩺 Preceptor Award

This award recognizes a PNP preceptor who demonstrates outstanding bedside teaching and mentorship. It honors those who significantly impact the development of future health professionals and contribute meaningfully to quality pediatric care.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a member of the North Carolina chapter of NAPNAP. May precept students from any health profession but must have served as a preceptor during the 2024–2025 academic year.

🌟 Rising Star Award

This award celebrates an early-career PNP who demonstrates exceptional promise and impact. It honors individuals who exemplify excellence in clinical practice, leadership, and dedication to improving pediatric health outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a member of the North Carolina chapter of NAPNAP. Must have fewer than 5 years of experience as a pediatric-focused nurse practitioner.

🌍 Community Champion Award

This award recognizes a PNP who goes above and beyond in community engagement and service. It highlights their meaningful impact through advocacy, outreach, innovative programs, and dedicated pediatric practice.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a member of the North Carolina chapter of NAPNAP. Must practice in a pediatric-focused nursing role in North Carolina. Pre-licensure PNP Students are eligible to receive this award if other criteria are met.

🏆 Marcia S. Lorimer Legacy Award

This is the highest honor in our chapter. This legacy award honors the over 40 years of clinical, scientific, and leadership excellence demonstrated by Marcia S. Lorimer, CPNP. It recognizes a PNP who exemplifies excellence in pediatric care through education, leadership, advocacy, research, or clinical practice.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a member of the North Carolina chapter of NAPNAP. Must be certified as a nurse practitioner in a pediatric focused role (PNP-PC, PNP-AC, FNP, or PMHS).
