Your Chapter Board

President: Christy Leyland, DNP, PED-BC, CNL, CPNP-AC

Christy has been caring for pediatric patients and their families for more than two decades, serving in various roles that impact children’s health in clinical settings, as an educator, and as a leader. She graduated from Carolinas College of Health Sciences with an associate degree in nursing and the University of Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, Queens University of Charlotte with a Master of Science degree, and Duke University with a post-graduate degree as a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner, obtaining her PNP certification. She completed her DNP at Wake Forest University. She has had the privilege of serving children and families for more than 20 years and is excited to serve on the board for the North Carolina-Charlotte Chapter of NAPNAP in a different capacity. She currently work as a pediatric APP hospitalist.

Secretary: Arianna Stone, CPNP-PC, APRN

Arianna has been a pediatric nurse practitioner for about seven years and absolutely loves working with kids. She is currently a new provider working with pediatric and adolescent gynecology at AH Levine’s. She graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2017. In her free time she enjoys gardening, baking sourdough bread, and doing yoga. She joined NAPNAP when she first moved to Charlotte and met many wonderful nurse practitioners and friends through the organization. When she had the opportunity to join the board, she wanted to continue providing great networking opportunities for all pediatric-focused NPs while also planning our special events and learning opportunities.

Treasurer: Grace Buttriss DNP, FNP-BC, CNL

Grace is passionate about being on the board to support current and future nurse practitioners in the Charlotte region. Grace has been a member of the Charlotte chapter for 10 years. She is the program director at Northeastern University’s School of Nursing and practices in the newborn nursery at Novant Health.

CE Chair: Jayme Alberssen, MSN, CPNP-PC- CE

Jayme works full time in the pediatric ICU at Novant Health and PRN with Pediatric Urology Associates. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Florida. Go Gators! 🐊 She loves being on the board of thel chapter to network with all of pediatric colleagues and plan great educational opportunities for our members.

Membership Chair:  Lakisha Frye, DNP, CPNP-AC

Lakisha is the membership and communications chair for the chapter and is originally from New Orleans. She has lived in Charlotte for 11 years and has worked at Levine Children’s Hospital since. She currently works at the LCH Hematology Oncology Clinic. She received her DNP from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and her MSN and BSN from the University of South Alabama. Lakisha has been a NAPNAP member since 2017 and has served on the board since 2018.
