Our Mission

Greater New York (GNY) Chapter Mission Statement

The GNY Chapter's Mission statement is consistent with NAPNAP’s Mission statement: “
To empower pediatric-focused advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) and key partners to optimize child and family health.” (www.napnap.org )

We, the members of the Greater New York Chapter of NAPNAP, have, as our mission, a commitment to life-long learning to enable Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) and Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs), who provide care for all pediatric populations (infants, children, adolescents and young adults) to render high quality, evidence-based care to the full extent of their scope of practice to the pediatric populations and their families by offering high quality continuing educational programs for all GNY Chapter members.

Our mission is to also support advocacy for all pediatric populations to have access to high quality healthcare rendered by PNPs and FNPs through non-restrictive New York State (NYS) legislative laws.

In addition, we support collaborative efforts with NP organizations throughout NYS to achieve the goal of access to high quality healthcare rendered by NPs who serve all adult populations through non-restrictive New York State (NYS) legislative laws.

Our mission includes supporting PNP and FNP students during their educational programs to become members of NAPNAP and the GNY Chapter by providing an introduction into the PNP and FNP professions, opportunities to network with experienced practitioners, and the commitment to become life-long learners and advocates for our pediatric patients and our profession.
