Kathy Falkenstein Memorial Grant

Grant given in Honor of Kathy Falkenstein

This grant is offered to honor Kathy Falkenstein, a long time Chapter member and mentor to many pediatric nurse practitioners. 

The goal of the Kathy Falkenstein Memorial Grant is to fund clinical research or projects which improve pediatric nurse practitioner practice and or promote viability of the nurse practitioner role. 

The purpose is to stimulate clinical research or innovative clinical projects by chapter members, to encourage collaborative efforts among Chapter members, and may include any clinical area in which pediatric nurse practitioners practice. 

The award: A maximum of $1000 per grant, awarded once per year
Deadline for submission: February 15 each year
Date of award: Announcement at a Spring Educational Event

Evaluation Procedure: Research/projects will be evaluated based on: potential to impact child health care and PNP practice, feasibility, scientific merit, innovative clinical research, soundness of budget, results that would lead to professional publication or news media coverage.

Responsibilities of Award Recipients: The individuals or group receiving the grant will present the results to chapter members at the local conference meeting one year from the receipt of the award.  PADelVAL Chapter of NAPNAP must be credited for the financial support in all published outcomes or presentations.
