Your Chapter Board

President: Lauren Vietmeier, MSN, CPNP-PC

Lauren has been a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) since 2018. She earned her BSN from Duquesne University and her MSN from Drexel University. She currently practices at Children’s Community Pediatrics in South Fayette. She has been involved with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) since graduating from her PNP program. She served as secretary for four years. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time in this role and has met many new colleagues and friends.Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Dan; two sons, Hudson, 8, and Brooks, 5; and her golden retriever, Cruz. She loves traveling as a family, with Disney World and Nassau, Bahamas, being among their favorite destinations. She also enjoys reading and online shopping.

President-elect: Nicole Fazio, DNP, CRNP

Nicole is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner (CPNP-PC) currently working in the newborn nursery. Previously, she worked as a nurse practitioner in an outpatient pediatric primary care office and spent her entire bedside nursing career in the neonatal intensive care unit. She has a passion for newborn medicine, as well as continuing education and evidence-based practice. In addition to her clinical work and role with PA Three Rivers NAPNAP, Nicole serves as an item writer for PNCB, helping to shape the credentialing exam for future pediatric nurse practitioners. She earned her BSN and DNP, along with a minor in nursing education, from the University of Pittsburgh and hopes to return to academia one day.

Immediate Past President: Chris Kyper, DNP, CPNP-AC/PC

Chris has been a nurse practitioner since 1995 practicing in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care and, for the last 16 years, in critical care. She is currently employed as a PNP in the PICU at the Alaska Native Medical Center. Chris has served as an item writer for both the primary care and acute care exam for PCNB.  

Treasurer: Meg Hannan, PhD, RN, CPNP

 

Meg has been a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care since 2001. She is currently the Quality & Compliance Director for The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh.  She has been a  member of the PA Three Rivers Chapter of NAPANP since 1999, serving in different roles on the chapter board, as well as, treasurer for the national organization from 2012-2016.

Legislative Chair: Jackie Calhoun, DNP, CPNP-AC

Jackie is a pediatric critical care nurse practitioner at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in the PICU. She is also an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, where she is the coordinator of the pediatric acute care nurse practitioner program. She was selected to be a member of the national NAPNAP Professional Issues Committee. Prior to serving as the legislative chair for the chapter, Jackie was the chapter's treasurer.

CE Chair: Mary K. Kelly MSN, CRNP, CPNP

Mary is a founding member of the Three Rivers Chapter of NAPNAP. She has been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 1994 and proudly works in primary care. She is also an international board-certified lactation consultant. She previously served as chapter president and, for the last few years, has worked with the Continuing Education Committee to provide educational opportunities, including the annual symposium.

Membership Chair: Katie Williams, MSN, FNP


Katie has been a member of the PA Three Rivers NAPNAP since 2016. She has served on the education committee prior to serving two terms as president. Currently, Katie serves as the chair of the membership committee. In addition, she is actively involved in the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, where she serves on the membership committee. Clinically, Katie works as a nurse practitioner at UPMC Children’s Hospital in the Pediatric Otolaryngology outpatient clinic. In addition, she is the associate director of advanced practice quality and education at UPMC Children’s Hospital.

Community Outreach: Susan Van Cleve, DNP, CPNP-PC

Susan is a pediatric nurse practitioner and a pediatric mental health specialist who has extensive experience working with children and families in primary care settings as well as with children with disabilities and mental health disorders. She has been involved in teaching in PNP/DNP programs for more than 30 years. Her current clinical position is in a pediatric primary care practice where she integrates behavioral health care, providing comprehensive assessment and treatment to children and teens with developmental, behavioral, and mental health disorders. She lectures extensively in international, national, regional and local settings on clinical topics such as ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression, OCD, and the role of nurse practitioners in the integration of mental health into pediatric primary care. Her publications focus on the integration of mental health and clinical behavioral topics. Susan is a founding member of the chapter and is a past president of NAPNAP as well as serving in various positions both locally and nationally.

Communications Chair: Sara O'Brien

Sara is a family nurse practitioner and has practiced in primary care pediatrics for 10 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s in nursing from Georgetown University. Her bedside nursing experience is in pediatric cardiac step-down care and labor and delivery. She has a passion for newborn medicine, lactation and supporting families during a child’s first few years. She is a former education co-chair and chapter president. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her four children, playing tennis or reading.
