Pediatric Emergency Care is a specialty that is drawing on an increasing number of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) to deliver high quality, efficient, and effective care. Across the nation, it has been demonstrated that PNPs are vital team members in both emergency departments and urgent care centers. The Pediatric Emergency Care Special Interest Group (PEC SIG) is dedicated to providing its members with a national platform to explore the issues and unique challenges faced by nurse practitioners caring for the unexpected pediatric patient.
The PEC SIG was founded in 2018 and we have grown exponentially since then. We recognize, not only the diversity of our membership, but that care in the urgent or emergent setting does not happen in isolation. The PEC SIG is dedicated to identifying common goals and creating solutions for evolving education, practice, and legislative challenges across the care continuum.
