President and Treasurer: Haley Harger, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC, IBCLC

Haley Harger is a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from George Washington University and worked as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric primary care before completing a Master of Science in nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Old Dominion University. She is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two daughters.

President Elect and Secretary: Jennifer Walsh, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC, CNE

Jennifer has been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 1997, practicing in primary care. Since 2015, she has worked at George Washington University School of Nursing. In her current role as a clinical assistant professor, she coordinates the pediatrics and health assessment courses in the accelerated bachelor’s program in nursing. Walsh also volunteers her skills at community events around the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, offering well-child and sports clearance physicals.

Legislative Chair: Terri Clinger, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC

Dr. Clinger has extensive experience as a nurse clinician, educator and academic leader. She is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and is a past president and legislative chair of the Virginia chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Before joining Randolph-Macon College as a visiting assistant professor, she served as deputy executive director for advanced practice for the Virginia Board of Nursing. She also has extensive experience in education as an associate dean and professor of nursing for the Virginia Community College System and was awarded the Chancellor Faculty Fellowship. As an associate dean, she worked to expand the nursing program and secured funding to improve the clinical simulation labs. As a professor, she helped develop a part-time nursing track and curriculum for the concept-based model. Clinger’s research focuses on skin-to-skin contact during cesarean sections, including its effect on maternal satisfaction and patient experience. She plans to expand this research to include the impact of skin-to-skin contact during cesarean delivery on neonatal health.

Membership Chair: Elizabeth G. Choma, DNP, RN, PNP-PC

Elizabeth Choma is an assistant professor at George Washington University and a pediatric nurse practitioner at the university’s Student Health Center. She received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from George Washington, a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Florida. Choma has presented at conferences including the National League for Nursing, the Virginia State Simulation Alliance and the International Nursing Association for Clinical and Simulation Learning. She also serves as a community volunteer for youth soccer, Girl Scouts and Loudoun County Public Schools. She lives in Aldie, Virginia, with her husband and three children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, running, reading and traveling.

CE Chair: Jennifer Fontenot, MSN, RN, CPNP, IBCLC

Jennifer R. Fontenot grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from the University of Virginia and the University of South Alabama. She worked as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at UVA Children’s Hospital for 15 years before becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner and joining a private practice clinic in 2017. Fontenot is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and enjoys providing newborn care and lactation support. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking and traveling with her family.
