Peer Reviews

On March 19, 2012, a peer review was held in Arte's restaurant. Dr. Ritamarie John, program director of the PNP program at Columbia University, delivered a lecture on "Pediatric Primary Care Updates." Topics covered were the latest practice guidelines on community acquired pneumonia and UTI; techniques and strategies for encouraging vaccine-hesitant parents; and various other guidelines that impact PNP practice. An overflow crowd of 50 NAPNAP members gathered for Dr. John's lecture and as usual she did not disappoint. Dr. John provided the following links to useful resources related to her talk:

11/21/11: Wendy Chung MD delivered a fascinating lecture on The Integration of Genetics in Primary Care at Fagiolini's Restaurant.

1/18/12: We enjoyed a lively lecture on CBC interpretation Nicole Kucine MD, entitled What Happens When Good Cells Go Bad, at the Torch Club in NYU.

The topics chosen are based on the survey among members on requested topics taken last year.

All future registration for Peer Reviews will be via Monkey Survey.  Meticulous records must be kept by our chapter to document all CEUs.  It makes it much easier to document and track all of the information especially the evaluations if done on line.  If a member signs in as a registered attendee for a Peer Review, the member will receive a Monkey Survey to complete the evaluation for the program.  Once the evaluations have been received, the member will receive the CE certificate via email which can be downloaded and printed.
