Greater Texas Chapter Memorial Scholarship

The Greater Texas Chapter NAPNAP Memorial Scholarship is a $750 scholarship awarded to either:

  • 1.     A nurse pursuing a master's degree in pediatric nursing
  • 2.     A pediatric nurse practitioner currently enrolled in either acute or primary care post-master’s degree or
  • 3.     A pediatric nurse practitioner currently enrolled in a DNP program

This scholarship is sponsored by the greater Texas chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) with the goal of supporting advanced education and improving the quality of life for children in Texas.  Requirements:

  • 1)     Member of the greater Texas chapter of NAPNAP.
  • 2)     Student in an NLN or AACN accredited school and be enrolled in a pediatric acute care or pediatric primary care nurse practitioner program in Texas.
  • 3)     Completed two semesters of study (must submit a copy of most recent transcript).
  • 4)     Provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member and a colleague attesting to the applicant’s integrity, clinicalcompetence, patient advocacy, high academic achievement and dedication to improving pediatric health care.
  • 5)     Combined GPA of 3.5 or higher (must submit a copy of most recent transcript).
  • 6)     Provide current documentation of employment in pediatric facility.
  • 7)     Submit a copy of his/her resume.
  • 8)     Completion of a 500 words or less essay answering the following question:

                                    What inspired you to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse practitioner?
