The Greater Texas Chapter NAPNAP (GTx-NAPNAP) is a professional organization of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) who work throughout Texas in a myriad of settings. PNPs provide care from birth to twenty-one years of age; in hospitals, emergency rooms, in hospital intensive care units, private offices, and a variety of clinic settings. They may provide primary care, specialty care and intensive care for children throughout Texas.

The Mission of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners is to promote optimal health for children through leadership, practice, advocacy, education and research.

The Purpose of the Greater Texas Chapter of NAPNAP is to:

  • Promote and foster national NAPNAP issues in the greater Texas area
  • Develop and sponsor continuing education for healthcare providers in a pediatric population
  • Support and facilitate state and local programs to improve quality of healthcare in pediatrics

The Greater Texas Chapter of NAPNAP is an organizational member of the Coalition for Nurses in Advance Practice, a coalition of all statewide advanced practice nursing organizations. CNAP was organized to accelerate legislative endeavors in Texas for Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs).

Greater Texas Chapter of NAPNAP holds an educational dinner meeting every other month. The chapter supports several local agencies that provide care for the indigent and immigrant populations.

Greater Texas Chapter of NAPNAP sponsors annual awards for:

  • PNP of the Year

  • Child Advocate of the Year
  • Parent of the Year
  • Preceptor site of the Year
