Makenzie Wesner, NP


Bio

Makenzie Wesner is a UCSF-trained Behavioral & Developmental Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with 14 years of experience in multiple specialty settings and approaches to care. She practices in the San Francisco-Bay Area and serves as Chair of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Developmental, Behavioral & Mental Health Special Interest Group in partnership with the Society for Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics, for which she is an appointed liaison.

Makenzie specializes in neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), motor and communication disorders, and executive dysfunctions. With a background in neurogenetics, complex trauma, teaching, and therapy, Makenzie also serves those affected by genetic, sensory, learning, depressive, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders.

Makenzie has talent in caring for the developing child, teen, and young adult. She is dedicated to providing high-quality evaluations, guidance and treatment to those that she serves. Additionally, Makenzie is passionate about the advancement of neuroscience through increased education and innovation. As an environmentalist, open water swimmer, and trail runner, she believes that this should include research on the physical benefits of immersion in natural open water and space. Makenzie is available for collaborations, consultations, and trainings upon request.
