Chapter Awards

Our chapter offers scholarships to deserving candidates in pediatric nursing graduate programs. Our 2023 scholarship recipients are:

Bethany Elliott, BSN, RN
Bethany Elliott is currently pursuing her DNP and CPNP-AC at Rush University in Chicago, slated for graduation in April 2024. 

Heidi Erickson, BSN, RN
Heidi earned her undergraduate degree from UC-Davis. She completed the accelerated BSN program at CSU-Northridge. She is enrolled in the pediatric primary care NP master's of nursing program at CSU-Long Beach, graduating in May 2024.

Jacqueline O’Connell, MSN, MPH, RN, PNP-PC
Jacqueline earned her BSN from Georgetown University. She earned her MPH, MSN-PNP-PC from John Hopkins University. She is enrolled in the post-master’s acute care PNP certificate program at Rush University, graduating in December 2023.

Our chapter recognized our 2023 outstanding NP of the year award:

Dr. Kristi K. Westphaln, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC
Dr. Westphaln is an assistant professor at UCLA school of nursing in the dual primary and acute care PNP program. She is an experienced clinician with more than 15 years of clinical experience and currently works as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the emergency department/CARES child protective team at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
