Iowa NAPNAP NP of the Year 2024
Purpose: This award is presented every year at the Iowa NAPNAP Fall Conference to one of our members who have made substantial contributions to Iowa NAPNAP and to their profession. To nominate a colleague, review the guidelines above and submit a one-page summary of the nominee’s contributions and the reasons they deserve this honor. Please also include the following information with the nomination
Qualifications for nomination:
1. Be a paid member of Iowa NAPNAP in the current membership year.
2. Have been a member for at least one year prior to the current membership year.
3. Currently employed in advanced practice nursing.
4. Show leadership in the nursing profession and/or the area of children’s health.
Process for selection:
1. Nominations are made by other Iowa NAPNAP members, including officers and board members. The nomination form is sent to members via the newsletter and list-serve.
2. Nominations are sent to the chairs of the awards committee: Liz Faine (elizabeth-faine@uiowa.edu) and Courtney Kremer (courtney-kremer@uiowa.edu).
3. The winner will be announced at the annual Iowa NAPNAP conference on Friday October 4, 2024 at the Iowa NAPNAP Annual Fall Conference in Iowa City, Iowa.
Iowa NAPNAP Conference Scholarship for Students
Purpose: The purpose of this award is to assist graduate nursing students with an interest in pediatric health care issues in furthering their professional education. The award will be granted to a member to attend the annual Fall IA NAPNAP Conference on Oct. 3-4, 2024, at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City, Iowa.
Type of Award: Conference Registration fee for annual IA NAPNAP Conference
Selection Criteria: The nominee must:
1) Be in an accredited NP program
2) Submit one letter of reference from current faculty or a clinical colleague
Loretta Ford Preceptor of the Year Award 2024
Purpose: The purpose of this award is to recognize an outstanding nurse practitioner preceptor and his/her dedication and commitment to the educational advancement of future NP students.
Type of Award: Certificate
Eligibility:
1. Current nurse practitioner preceptor in the state of Iowa.
2. Current member of Iowa NAPNAP
Selection Criteria: The nominee must demonstrate the following qualities:
1. Professionalism
2. Commitment to education
3. Positive mentorship
4. Dedication
