Our Past
The Arizona chapter of NAPNAP was formed March 29, 1993 with 12 members. Our charter officers were Karen Eynon- President, Cindy Nelson- Vice president, Maurine McLellan- Secretary, and Vicki Simpson- Treasurer.
Our Present
While we share the same mission statement as National NAPNAP, we also try to meet the needs of our members and the community. Our members are employed in a variety of settings and bring diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise to our group. We have members who have been in practice as PNPs for over 20 years as well as new graduates.
We plan to have three to four meetings this year. In June we met in conjunction with the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics' yearly continuing education meeting. Continuing education is offered at most of our meetings.
We continually share ideas and discuss local and national professional issues at our meetings. Networking is an important part of membership. By sharing ideas and continued learning, our members all try to provide the best possible care to the children of Arizona. Also, more than one member has been able to find out about job opportunities through other Arizona NAPNAP members.
