Immediate Need for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NE
QUALIFICATIONS.
Possess current certification by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Must have knowledge of professional nursing theories, principles, practices, and procedures of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners; a variety of pharmacological agents to prescribe for patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications for their use; comprehensive knowledge of pediatric dosages and precautions; administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient’s health and medical conditions including explanation of procedures to patients and their patients, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care; and, computer operations in the use of basic word processing, data entry and electronic medical records and patient information systems.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital PICU is seeking an additional Pediatric Acute Care NP to join our group.
Phoenix Children’s is one of the largest freestanding children’s hospitals in the country with 465 licensed beds. Our 48 bed PICU is covered 24/7 by 13 intensivists and 5 NP’s. Our multidisciplinary unit cares for a variety of trauma, medical, surgical, and liver/kidney/BMT transplant patients. The PICU at PCH has an average of 2300 admissions per year and all are managed by the ICU staff. A PICU fellowship started in 2010 and coordinates well with our NP partners. An active ECMO program serves about 35 patients per year and as one of the 7 sites funded by the NICHD Collaborative Pediatric Critical Care Network, multiple research activities are also available. The NP position includes an opportunity to educate and provide medical assistance in Alaska as well.
Candidates should be Pediatric Acute Care Board Certified with a minimum of 2 years PICU experience as an RN or NP.
